    If anyone Buxton-way fancies a posh frocks and dinner jackets night out whilst also raising money for the RNLI, the Autumn Ball is being held at the Palace Hotel on Saturday 13th October.

    There is – genuinely – a Buxton branch of the RNLI. My Dad does a load of fundraising for them and I said I’d give the event a plug. I’ve been a few times; it’s good to get dressed up now and again and swan around the bar with a bow tie slung round your neck.

    Ahhh, the Buxton branch of the RNLI must be rushed off their feet.

    I’m reminded of my time in the Swiss Coastguard etc etc
