I’ve got a superstar evo switch rear hub with a 135mm qr axle at the moment and a new frame on the way complete with a 142×12 axle.

Do I need to buy the whole superstar conversion kit (inc axle) or not?

Yes, since the axle itself is wider.

New frames usually come with the axle, so you might end up with two axles unless superstar do a kit without the axle. maybe worth you asking in both cases.

you could just look at what everyone else ordered….

I think the switch needs a new internal axle or whatever – I got the 12mm conversion for 135.

Superstar only do one, the £13 hub axle, right? That’s the one you need.

    As above http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=51&products_id=576

Need two thin 17mm spanners, undo endcap on old one, slide it out and the freehub, fit new one in reverse order, no need to faff with bearings

The frame will come with the 142 maxle/qr itself

Great, thanks all – was hoping I’d avoided £13 but not to be.
