How do they compare with the sintered? Do they last any where near as long, are they significantly more powerful?

I had one that came with a used brake, already half worn probably.
It seemed to last for ages, a lot longer than Clarks organic ones which I normally use.
I keep meaning to order some.

i like them, but go though them in about 4 rides if wet muddy/gritty!

great for the warm dry summer we are going to get this year 😆

Yep, my pad of choice- never had any problems with lifespan in mud, think it depends how gritty your mud is (fort william mud sanded through my skin but didn’t kill my pads)

In true STW fashion I did have to fix one with a rock while in the alps

Normally great but nearly new front and rear ones went down to the metal on a (biblically) wet and muddy ride around Hebden. The grit round there forms into a horrific grinding paste.

I still use them most of the time but I will be changing to sintered once I move over there.

Have had a couple of sets

Both were very underwhleming, performance very poor compared to many other pads I’ve tried. The second set, the braking material came off the pad back after only 2 rides!

Wouldn’t buy them again, put it that way.

Weirdly, I took a load out to the Alps with me and out there they were awesome and they continued to be awesome when I got back. Obviously this led me to buy some more which have done nothing but squeal and resist any attempt to make me slow down.

I must admit, I got a feeling of deja vu writing the reply…

I didn’t like them either, preferred the standard hope ones as they had more stopping power

I got through a set in two days of alpine riding. They haven’t lasted much longer in wintery UK conditions either. Quiet and powerful though, I’m temped to save them for summer in case that’s when they prove a little more durable.

Thanks aracer, had a morbid fear that this thread was going to be completely devoid of sarcasm…
