Never had anyhing to do with road bikes and have been asked to check over one for a friend. Just wondered if it is normal for the above front shifter to index 3 or 4 times {double chainrings} to move up from small to large chain ring. Would expect one click to be one gear change? Any advice welcome.

The extra clicks are common on road bike shifters, and usually used to fine tune the front mech when running crossover gearing.
