What can you recommend with removable or no liner?

Specialized Enduro. Light, tough, comfy, cool. Just bought my 2nd pair. Not cheap though, Edinburgh bicycle & Leisurelakes are doing them for about a tenner less than anywhere else.

The spesh one has a much better liner than the endura one IMO

Endura Zymes may still be on offer at All Terrain Cycles. Not bad for £17 but wouldn't pay full price for them as the popper needs to be squeezed with some pliers to get it to stop un-popping itself!

New Endura MT500 Spray baggies are much nicer and comfier than Singletrack shorts.

Lighter and stretchier fabric than both Zyme and Singletracks

Altura Mayhem, cheaper than the Endueas and much nicer IMO. Got 2 pairs, they've been worn constantly and crashed in frequently and still pretty much as good as new.

The Endura Sprays do look a good idea though.

    +1.

Both of my cheaper Altura shorts are still going strong after about 18 months of abuse, while every Endura garment I've owned (including their socks) has fallen apart as soon as I looked at it.

    "Endura Singletrack."

Ripped right through the bum stitching on mine last week. In the menders at the moment.

Dunno why people recommend Endura kit anymore unless it's high end stuff it'll just come apart at the stitching. If you have to wear baggies, then get any old pair, and underneath invest in a decent pair of Lycra shorts
