I may be riding in the FOD on the Sat evening too if you fancy hooking up for that? (Night ride with lights)
Posted 1 year ago # -
Excellant looks as those I might bring some of the old boys I ride with, hopefully the night ride will start and finish @ the pub?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Of course Rich, unless you can think of a better location
Posted 1 year ago # -
A night ride with beer you say?
That might tempt me out.

If you pootle along past the SSEC'10 field at Speech House on the Saturday evening at about 7.00 / 7.30ish you should see a big bonfire and a few fireworks going off
Posted 1 year ago # -
That was my plan Peter!
Posted 1 year ago # -
and you can put all the bikes on it
Posted 1 year ago # -
Only non niche ones RD
Posted 1 year ago # -
Cool, I may pitch up

Well I've gone and done what I should've done a long time ago, SS'd my bike! Feels and looks great but the on-one SS kit is really shit as it doesn't let you adjust the chain line very well at all. So I need some better spacers and probably a new chain, but other than that I'm ready for this ride

Excellent!

Can I come? I have my own wok...
Posted 1 year ago # -
_tom_, that bike looks very purposeful. Have you tried climbing any substantial hills on it yet?
Posted 1 year ago # -
bullandbladder.
Compared to 'tollah's wok yours is a small saute pan.

Only on-road. I've been riding an SS 48-16 road bike for the past 2 months and can get up all the road climbs around here now. 32-16 on 26" is way easier to pedal so I should be ok

if all calms down a bit with life I'm up for a ride with some attentionmongeringnichewhoreslackerwoksmugglingwideboys.
If I can't find any of those I'll come out with you chaps if I may

Points and laughs at Tazzy.
Tom I think it's more the head angle that is being discussed rather than the gearing! Slack head angles suk at climbing!
2:1 will be fine for the FOD as I won't be taking you all up any massive climbs.Posted 1 year ago # -
Points and laughs at Tazzy.
that's not very nice! you just pick on me because i'm shy
Posted 1 year ago # -
Shy and fat!
Posted 1 year ago # -
It's a 71 degree head angle according to the dmr site! Forks wind in to 110mm anyway.

taz taking the new single speed for spin to the pie shop
Posted 1 year ago # -
Looks a lot slacker than 71° you'll be ok every hill is walkable!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Cmon Taz we all know that's Stu riding that!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Stu in full glory
Posted 1 year ago # -
the 'tollah riding it like he stole it
Posted 1 year ago # -
Must get a new helmet for ssfod!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Come on tazzy you knows I ain't that thin.
Posted 1 year ago # -

Excellent
Thinking about bringing my full face as well so I can have a razz on some of the dh runs afterwards depending how long this ride is.
