I'm rebuilding a slightly nasty Osprey skateboard for my eldest so it's actually useful (yes I know I could buy a new one complete, a Renner or something, for no more, but the deck is serviceable apart from the lurid graphics and I'm expecting a breakage to justify a new one!) and have put a set of Enuff wheels with cores on - my question is, do these need spacers? Seem to be working without so far, but I'm curious now. Amazing the difference a set of £8 bearings and some wheels made from PU have made (and some 101A bushings).
STW skateboarders - wheels with a core
All wheels should really have spacers but work fine without.
I bought some new wheels and bearings for my 20 year old board. I asked the same question, the guys at SS20 say no, no one uses them nowadays.
Wheels will work fine if without spacers if you have 'self locking' nuts. Otherwise you must have spacers as you'll be loading the bearings....awh, who gives a shiz??? Get out there and ride
I think they were self locking, but taking them on and off a few times has definitely put paid to that. Need some washers too.
SS20, great shop! Rollermania was my 'local' (40 miles, but easier train route), think I might pop into Slam City next week as I'm in the area for work.. I think those wheels need some Indys and a Krooked deck to set them off
