Jamie was it you and another guy on the retro-bikes? I can't believe you got picked up by Cumbris'a finest. Jolly nice of him to help you out I say!!
Oh, and I just managed to replace the seat post clamp (nicked the one off my 5) so I can go out to play tomorrow night without having the pi55 taken out me, ah best get my unruly brake hose sorted first tho!!!

yes clare it was.i was on the grey blue spesh.joe was on the mountain goat.
we saw the police chap in grasmere and asked which way he took a guess an we left,when later on he caught us up to see if we had any success.joe jumped in an went off looking for the car park found it then came back and we rode there...i've never been so happy to see my car my feet were like ice got back home about 7.30pm!!!

I know my limits, just not been riding enough for such a distance at the moment and didn't want to be the one at the back holding everyone up
Will be getting a few decent rides in over the next few weeks so hopefully see you at the next one

for some reason I was knackered by 11 miles but I'd never have lived down dropping out so I just had to carry on :o) The pace was relaxed!

seriously Danny, it's no good moaning about not being fit enough afterwards - you did well in Grizedale last year and this ride was a similar level of difficulty.

Excellent photo's Simon as always... in terms of the naming, I'm on the blue/white on-one heading down the slatey slope.

I apologise to those I didn't name - I think there's a limit to the number of new names you can learn in one go, so I relied on those who introduced themselves, or who I overheard being named

It was the perfect type of ride to get out on if you haven't done much lately. MrCM was out on his singlespeed and just set off before everyone else, getting to the top somewhere middling to rear of the pack!! Plenty of rest/stretch/food stops too
SFB - great photos, as per usual! Can't believe you stayed up so late to get them finished! Well done on the name retention skills by the way.......I'll add a couple later ;-D
