Hello – I’ll be in Grange for a week with the family, and the bike, and I’d like to head out for some proper riding at some point, but apart from Grizedale, I’m a bit clueless about good loops a bit closer to Grange.

Any advice much appreciated.

there’s plenty out round kentmere and staveley which are only a short drive away: as are coniston and windermere. Closer to Grange itself, there’s a loop around whitbarrow scar (you could easily ride from Grange itself) and another around cartmel fell (bit further but still doable) in this book

Havce a look at the bogtrotters ride list for some inspiration, they might even have rides round silverdale way on the other side of the estuary
