    For Fun.

You all know the rules 🙂

    and for Fun.

Birds are in because some peeps might not have a pet or a friends pet to draw. Some like me might not have any friends 😉

Next week: Draw anything but with a 10 minute time limit.

Your drawings are coming on loads Samurai, nice work. Save the very darkest for the area around the highlights in the eyes and on the nose, it will really make them ‘pop’. To make an area look lighter or brighter darken the area directly around it.

Cheers guys. You’re both instrumental in any improvements I’ve made, so thanks.

Samurai, notice the white on the dog drawing is the white of the page coming through, and that the brightest highlights have a dark area around them to make them whiter.

Compare it to the painting below, i have not used any white on it and it gives it a more moody feel. That painting was an experiment btw, its delibaretly out of focus, an idea i nabbed from a friend.

You’re just having a laugh now, I thought those were photographs. 😉
    The cat is awesome!

Timelapse for the entire drawing process or as a series of snapshots of the drawing? I could easily create the latter if you send me all the snapshots.

    What a great idea 🙂

Time-lapse can be done with a webcam or pen cam attached. Loads of stop motion software can do it.

Of to source forge to find an app.

virtualDub will combine a folder of jpegs into an avi, good thing is it’s free.

The Sketch Club app I have on my iPad saves the timelapse (of the entire drawing) and you can upload to Youtube. I always forget to set it going before I start!

Just done one as a test… pretty poor, I usually take days over a drawing, but you get the idea!

Let me get this into my thick head…

If I buy an iPad, I could doodle and stuff on it then upload a time-lapse straight onto YouTube ? I really want one of these.

    Literally, in seconds!
In Sketch Club, set it to record, draw, end. Select export to Youtube, select the speed (above is x8), add music if you want, hit the button and aaway it goes 🙂

[edit] Only problem is you have to use fingers to draw (well, I think you can buy a stylus, but I can’t be bothered) and I have big fat fingers, so its hard to make the lines appear exactly where I want them!

Rubbish camera, in the virtual dark.

PS: If you try Tilaphos. You exit the progra by holding the middle button on the screen for longer that .5 second.

That’s cool redthunder, my friend has a few time lapses on YouTube I will ask him how he did them.

I’m supposed to be wedding planning but this looks more fun.

Anyone with an iPad got the Epyc app?

So addictive. Create a chain with drawings and descriptions of someone elses drawing (you can’t see the previous one).
