When you use (on shimano) your thumb to change up (i.e. when you can move 3-4 gears with one thumb stroke). Is that rapid rise or the other way round?

Rapid rise is when you push with the thumb and it gets harder (the gears that is)

Move up as in an easier gear?
If yes, it’s not rapid rise – I use the trigger (finger) shifter on my setup to move up the cassette. XT shifters and rapid rise mech here.
