    He hasn’t said what riding style he’s doing. To recommend Saints if he’s doing bog standard XC (or, IMO, anything other than full on DH and isn’t a fat lad) then they aren’t appropriate.

    They’re going on a Devinci Spartan. Who rides XC on that?!!

    I think the Zee is a Deore crank with a heavier gauge axle. Can’t remember if it has pedal inserts or not, I sold mine a while ago.

    If you ride up, along and down it’s XC. Always will be no matter what marketing fad you fall for.

    Been riding XC on Saints pretty much since their introduction.

    But then some XC will involve wheels never leaving the ground or hitting anything rough fast, whilst other XC will include big drops, jumps and rock gardens at DH pace. Wouldn’t it be easier to create some subcategories so the former don’t end up using excessively heavy components and the latter breaking stuff all the time?
