Not sure quite how this happened, but the caliper mounting bolt thread in my Rockhox sid race forks has stripped. I guess the best fix is a helicoil, does anyone know what size I need?? Thanks

Take it to an engineers for them to sort out. You have the potential to cock it up, not inserted straight or cracking the post mount, and ending up needing new lowers for the sake of saving a few quid.

M6 thread helicoil. IMO they would be better having helicoils in as standard. Postmount forks were a terrible idea, I prefer IS mount.

I’ve seen this fixed with a larger bore re-thread and threaded rods that were permanently screwed in; the caliper would be fastened using nuts – not the prettiest sight, but it worked.

Postmounts are OK, provided that you use the 4-screw adapters ( http://i.imgur.com/BX8rbOE.jpg ) instead of the inline ones ( http://i.imgur.com/iNLdCe8.jpg ); that way the side that screws into the frame/fork gets little use and there is very little risk of stripping the threads.
If using a 160mm disk then you’re out of luck; plus, if you don’t use some form of steel shim between the mount and the caliper, the oval hole of the caliper will dig into the mount.

Easy enough job, just be a little bit more gentle next time, or better still-invest in a torque wrench then things like this won’t happen.
