I need to replace the brake pads on said brakes but I can’t get the old ones out due to the tiny 1.5mm allen bolt heads getting rounded.

I could easily drill it out, but then I’d need to buy more screws. Are these available anywhere?

I have new pads but I can’t see that you can buy the cartridges anywhere without also buying the pads.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks

Genuine Avid pads usually come with a bolt though I’m sure I’ve bought bolts off eBay possibly different brand but fitted ok.

You could just use split pins – all they are there do dois stop the pads falling out when the brake is off – they don’t come under pressure when the brake is on. Bottom end shimanos use split piuns

You can buy any size of machine screw on ebay, in any quantity. Get the old ones out with molegrips, then buy some stainless screws with a philips head instead?

So a slightly oversized torx key and mallet did the trick. Thanks
