Kenda has started strengthening it sidewalls with a thin tape and I've used duct tape for many bodged repairs on sidewalls. Is there any merit to pre taping (with duct tape) the sidewalls to increase strength/puncture resistance? Anyone tried it?

About to try a first attempt at tubelessing some non-tubeless Kenda Nevegals but bit worried about the sidewalls having ripped a few in the past.
