Re the singing on Rivi- I remember seeing loads of Nigerians(?) all dressed in white singing up there on a really early Sunday morning. I loved the vibe.

Saw a full on naked bloke on the trail once, literally skipping along and whistling a merry tune. When he saw me he dived into the bushes and put his shorts on but to be honest I don’t know which of us was more startled. Each to their own I s’pose.

There is a semi-feral bloke who walks around the Chase in various states of undress. Have seen him a few times wearing just a loincloth and there have been reports of him naked

I saw what i thought was a lizard cross in front of me on the moors last weekend, it scarpered across just in front of me and was fairly quick so couldn’t get a propper look at it.

I thought we don’t get lizards over here, maybe its a newt?

It was black with yellow stripes or spots, had a quick search on google and this salamander came up, do we get them here in the UK?

A couple of years ago I saw a Macaw flying overhead. It was quite startling and surprisingly large.

Whilst gawping at it I realised I was straying in to the middle of the road whilst a car was doing the same thing the other way. We both swerved back to our own sides just in time.

not quite strange, but very pleasing, whilst happy bimbling along the Thames (footpath), having been scowled at by ramblers, there up in a tree (20 ft or so), with a bushman(a saw type chaps) in one hand and the branch he was sawing at in the other, feet braced against the trunk was a very heavily built, tanned, check shirt wearing chap – when he saw me he took out the saw, waved, smiled shouted hullo and then carried on sawing

I was buzzed by a Wellington bomber last Sunday

There’s an American religious sect near us – kind of a more modern Amish. On a night ride, we spotted 2 of them pushing a 90 year old lady in a wheelchair into the woods at nearly midnight 8O. We keep expecting to find the rusty wheelchair in the woods and a pile of fresh earth!!

You do get lizards all over the uk – can be reasonably varied colours inc. yellow/green, and look very “lizardy”, move fast.

but nowhere near as distinctive as that salamander – not native or recognised alien species, so if you saw similar to that, no idea.

On tonight’s night ride I saw an Owl, cat, rabbit, two badgers, a satellite, chased two Army Tanks and got close up to four helicopters. 🙂

And fell off twice 🙁

Only the other night up Rivi, 2 people just stood there in the middle of the trail staring out at about 11 pm

Ah your probably right then, it was moving quite fast so couldn’t get a good look as in ran across in front of me, i was close to running it over. Here’s a common lizzard which seems a bit more likely…

Stumbled into a rave at Swinley, with the DJ set up under the bridge and as i ride down a steepish slope was faced with a tent across the trail and took the guy ropes with me, 2 blokes still off their faces chased me.

Dog shrine off Tunnel Hill on the ranges, a tree covered with photos of a dog, its leads pinned on there and some dog based poetry.

When i rode around Liverpool Street/ Moorgate in London in 2001/2002 used to see a guy in a 3 piece pinstripe suit, bowler hat, briefcase and brolly under his arm on a unicycle.

ive seen a few weirds things, up near a very very very high trig point i saw a group of 10ish monk type people in those orange robes (think GOURANGA from GTA 😆 ) wiht nothing else on other than the robes, it was a cold winters day too, that was one of them WHAT THE **** moments with it being so remote and so random

not seen anything really really weird though i must say, usual creepy type noises on night rides in winter in the dark (usually solo so shit your self territory) then in the summer months at night out till the same time at night and dont hear a sound (so clearly it is all in my head!)

I guessed that was what it was, but only because I know it wasn’t a Lancaster – it has a single upright tail bit

I saw a bunch of wizards, elves, warriors etc in the woods, the highlight being one bloke shouting “someone take this spell off me so I can fight!”

A couple at it in the car (I assume so, either that or they were making tea as the windows were so steamed up!)

Sadly no naked ladies of any description, they don’t seem to be around down south!

White 7 series BMW stuck in the mud on a disused track. 7 of us offered to help push the car out. Very odd behavior from driver. We realized what was going on, when ‘he’ got out the car in full drag, white dress, high heels, lipstick, the works. Never did give us a clear explanation, just looked awkward & embarrassed throughout the whole episode.
