Thinking about picking up on of these for £50 from CRC (I want a shortish 'chunky' looking stem for a new build, the 65mm one in X-ray should do the job and look good to boot 8) )

Just one thing popping a doubt in my mind, there's one customer review on CRC that mentions an issue with bars slipping, (I know, I know, it's only one anonymous review 😆 ), but just thought I'd quickly check on here to see if anyone else had/has issues? Is there a reason these are on runout for £50?

Should I just go with a Thomsom X4 do you think?

personally I'd worry more about crappy internal wedge clamp designs damaging the fork steerer tube.
there are far better designs out there that are lighter and cost less.

No issues with mine, no bar slippage and no steerer damage, serpantly very stiff and not heavy. Its on same level as Thomthom, not better or worse just different.

GW- It doesnt need a gorilla to torque it up to keep it tight.

I cannot vouch for how secure that style of steerer clamp is for snakes but can assure you Gorilla's do need a more secure design 😉
