    I think forks is correct. Each end of the hub goes in a fork. It seems daft but I think it has always been this way.

    They dont on my fork. It has a thru-axle.

    Pretty certain that each fork leg has either a dropout, or fittings for an axle, depending on axle type.

    I would like to recommend ”The Fight For English” by David Crystal to everyone posting in this thread. It doesn’t have a chapter specifically on annoying bike-related phrases, but it’s still generally applicable. Read it, and then get over yourselves. 😉
