    Stolen recently – anyone know if this is traceable – if connected to wifi for example?

    Did you have ‘find my mac’ turned on?
    If so you should be able to track it on icloud.

    If you have it enabled, you can also remotely wipe the HD….

    I´m sure everyone else is typing the same thing as me right now but….

    If you find it, I would certainly think twice about turning up and knocking on the door. People have been stabbed for less.

    There’s a facility on some macs that once they’re triggered by the owner as stolen, the next time theyre switched on they take a webcam image of the user and this is then emailed to the account holder.

    I’ve recovered a couple using this over the past couple of years when we (the filth) identified the person in the pic. No idea how it actually works as I don’t have a Mac myself. Very good idea though.

    Find My iPhone, if enabled, shows all your Apple devices, mine is currently showing my pad, my two phones, 4 and 5, and my Mac Mini, so ought to show a MacBook.
