Can anyone offer me advice on riding sticks pass? Was thinking of setting off from Borrowdale and riding sticks first. Is this the best way or is it better the other way?

I think you mean Stakes Pass from the Langstrath valley, if so its best done from the Langstrath inn staying on the track north of the river, avoid the Bridleway as its slow and techy, cross over the footbridge and onto stakes pass,it links up nicely with the Rossett valley/Rossett Ghyll Bridleway (Big carry) from Esk Hause stay on the right hand side of the beck heading towards Styhead and then drop back into Seathwaite, dual ply on the back recommended with a 160 fork enjoy, its nuts.. 😉

Langdale up Rosset Gill and over and down Sty Head around from Seathwaite to Stonethwaite and up the Langstrath valley and over Stakes Pass.
Plus one for dual plky tyres, its seriously rocky!
