Apologies for what is potentially a stupid question. I’m looking to replace my aged ritchey stem at the moment. I have found a Thomson replacement but it differs slightly in that it is only a 5mm rise vs the 6mm I currently have. Is this so small as to be inconsequential?

Simply wearing a helmet should negate any adverse effects.

increase the pressure in your front tyre by 1psi, that should bring your handlebars back upto the same position.

or lower your stanchions by a few mm, that’ll help it
