    currently running 100m stem will i notice a diffrence in maybe going down to 80-70

    A dfference yes. A good one? Not necessarily. Depends on size of you/bike/forks, what you do etc.
    Give it a go anyway, you can always change back. I went 100mm to 50mm then to 70mm, this was sopt on for me.

    well im 6 1 using 140mm forks and large heckler

    Buy a cheap (but) stiff one and try it.

    Actually, I’ve got a couple of cheapo stems kicking around doing nowt, you can have them for postage so you can experiment. OS bars btw.
