Just switching some forks around and wondered if I'll get away with this?:

might be ok as long as the lower area has plenty to clamp around. how much steerer is actually covered?

tis very borderline though me thinks..

No.But I always put a spacer above the stem to ensure maximum clamp coverage.
Basically your stem will be attached with one bolt.

Yeah I normally run a spacer above also, about 25mm of stem or about 2/3rd's of it are around the stem.

I guess if I'm asking as I'm not 100% happy with it anyway, if I had lots of yes's then it may of swayed me… balls!!!

New stem or even a lower stack head set might solve it.

If not it's new forks o'clock

I was out by an inch with my new frame but the above sorted it. You've not much to lose so will be easy, Sunline V1 am stem is nice and low for a start.

Its an integrated headset, so can't get much lower on that. It was only going to be a temporary fork for a trip this weekend, the original forks will go back on until I find a replacement fork 🙁

Really? You needed to ask? I wouldn't even do that on the wife's bike!
