Following on from the ‘How real is steel’ thread I do seem to have a preference for steel bikes. Here are my favourites. Please feel free to post the best steel bikes you’ve had. Realise this has probably been done a million times before.

Yo Eddy, really does merit the hype.

Ritchey Team Comp, beautifully made with super skinny tubes.

Vicious Cycles Metal Guru. Probably the best I’ve had, Ritchey tubing and very nicely put together.

Muddy Fox Courier Prestige, for a bike at the cheaper end of the scale it did have classic steel attributes.

    Honorable mentions go to….

Kona Unit and the Singular Rooster and my old AlaCarte.

Two of my three bikes are steel. I’ve had carbon bikes and aluminum bikes but for me, steel just feels so much nicer to ride.

I own 4 bikes, all steel.

I can confirm that they are all real.

I’m a fan off steel, the bike that started it all was a 1999 Orange Clockwork in a lovely powder coat green, sadly don’t have photos… After that a P7, then a Kona Explosif, another P7, Haro Mary, Singular Swift orange then Blue…. once I got the Swift I stopped buying frames every years or so and had it for nearly 7 years now.

I couldn’t bring myself to sell my Singular after buying a new bike so turned it into my commuter/family/mostercross’ish bike.

In contrast a steel frame that is a bit dull….

That Singular is gorgeous! I’m thinking of doing similar with my Onza Payoff, but probably with flat bars.
