  • Steel Hardtail 29er Options for 120 fork?

Looking at what’s available if you want to pay under £500 (and pref £140 like the inbred 29er) but there doesn’t seem to be many options other than cotic. Any suggestions?

And to make it harder I would like the horizontal drop outs 🙂

    Kona Honzo?

I think the frame only is about £475 (you want cheap, get an inbred).

Transition Trans Am 29er, a bit more expensive at 580 odd or the New Dialled 29er, can’t see it being anymore than £500. Singular Buzzard was on the way too but its went a bit quiet. Not steel but I’m sure the Chumba will take a 120mm fork, its about £300.

Canfield Nimble 9 – under £500 if you live in US – almost £800 over here 🙂

Good shout on the Dialled. I had a 26er PA for a few years. Hopefully they’ll make something bigger than 19′.

Hoping to sell them for around £350-£375.

Sorry SBD, no plans to make anything bigger than 19″.

I’m selling a 18″ Honzo frame if you are interested. Mail in profile.

    Why the 120mm fork ?
To me, it made the front too high.
100mm travel felt about right on the 29ers I’ve had. 120mm didn’t suit the Inbred, that rode best at 100mm.
120mm felt like a lot more travel on a 29er than a 26er, if that makes any sense…

SCUD on here is running 120mm on a Solaris. Seems to like it.
