Looking for a list of ‘compliant’ 853 reynolds (or similar) steel hardtails designed for 27.5 wheels and up to a 150mm fork.

I was waiting on Pace’s 127, but I suspect that it’s not coming any time soon.

Done the soul 26 thing and looking for something a little slacker in geometry.

    Must be 31.6mm dropper compatible

    Any sugestions?

    Yeah switchback is 30.9 anyway.

That trans am looks like a good candidate.. didn’t see the 27.5 version on their site though.
I do like the look of that switchback too.. if I can get a 30.9 post

    cheers

Hadn’t realised it was 30.9mm as my slackline ti is 31.6mm. Thought they would have kept that standard?

    30.9 is a standard no?

Just meant that since they’ve done it with the slacklines (631/853/ti) they would have kept it with the switchback. Maybe its to help the weight?

30.9 on the tranny and yes 27.5

Rumour has it that there’s a new production privee in the pipeline, might well be 650b.

2souls do a 650b, if it’s any where near as good as my Qh it’s got to be worth a look

    Won’t 853 have a 27.2 mm diameter seat tube?

Wowsers, that Switchback runs 64deg HT thats almost Gambler DH slack.. likely a world of fun on the down, but a lazy beast up hill
My genius is 68deg and the Soul and Trans Am at 69.
The Production Shan that gets great feedback is at 66deg, but up there at Chromag money.

That NS Eccentric might be the right balance.

Switchback is 66 when sagged with 140mm forks…so probably 65.5 with 150 forks.

2015 TransAm requested.. hopefully stock is closer than the April dates that NS bikes were suggesting for their 2015 Eccentric.
    31.6mm post too 🙂

Have a word with Rob and get him to custom make you what you like:

    Homemade Bikes: Rob Farrer’s Hardtail

Anyone seen or ridden Rob’s work first hand yet? Custom hand build in UK for £500 sounds very appealing.

Not necessarily, I tried a 65 degree HA hardtail recently and it was brilliant uphill, the front end didn’t wander, it just felt planted. A lot depends on the seat angle.

Like wise on my 45650b with a 150mm fork. Seems to climb like a goat. Just under 65 I think.

Keep an eye on his FB page as he’s just finished a couple of frames, one of which will be built into a demo bike.
