OK, going to build up my Steel HT frame as a SS 69er.
Got 445mm rigid forks and 29er wheel and cranks with (I think) a decent 33T ring.
Got an 18T sprocket with spacers, but vert drop out means tension needed.
Was going for SStar jockey wheel tensioner – is there a better (cheap) option? Are the ‘rubber wheel’ type better than jockey wheel type (Don’t have an old rear mech!)
Do I need a special chain?
Going to file down an old outer ring as bash/guide and may leave front mech on (does that help??)
    Apologies for all the questions.
I’m not able to grow a beard and not prepared to drink scrumpy…..

The superstar tensioners seem to work as well as anything else … either type.

Don’t leave the front mech on it’s not needed.

Don’t need a special chain, just shorten what you have.

    Enjoy it.
