  • Sram xx1 crankset, 10speed compatible?

I’m interested in buying a set of the new sram xx1 cranks with the deeper toothed chainrings so I can run my bike without a chain device. I’m currently running all 10speed stuff & I certainly can’t afford to upgrade it all to 11speed. Will my 10speed chain work on the xx1 chainring & will it also work as it is intended to, to stop the chain jumoing off?
Also my bike doesn’t have a press fit bb, what kind of external bb cups do I need or are internal cups essential?
    Cheers

XX1 will work with 10 speed with no problems.

You can buy the XX1 cranks in either BB30 or GXP so I think you can use a GXP external cup BB or an HT2 one with adaptors.

The other far cheaper option is to buy one of the new Raceface fat/thin chainrings that will fit on your current crankset.

An even cheaper option is to buy a ‘Works Components’ one…
