In the SRAM XX manual, it says:

“XX brakes are compatible only with Avid organic brake pads”

Elsewhere, I’ve read:

“only 2 types of pads are recommended for the XX system: organic and semi-metallic”

Fibrax make sintered pads they claim are for SRAM XX.

Anyone had experience of using sintered or semi-organic pads on XX?

I thought it was Organic only,due to the Magnesium caliper not being able to deal with high temperatures that semi-metallic would produce

I used Superstar Kevlar. The brakes were utter toss irrespective of what you use.

Nicolaisam is right about Avid’s justification.

These brakes are fantastic! I’ll bet women throw themselves in front of you when they see your bike! 🙂
