Probably been covered but I’m having trouble finding any info

SRAM and shimano 10 + 11 speed compatibility? I’m interested in using a SRAM 10sp shifter with a shimano 10 sp rear mech, I’m guessing they’re incompatible though they’re both 1:1 now? Might be wrong on that.

How about same thing for 11 speed?

If they’re incompatible, what’s the reason and are there aftermarket solutions?

Cant comment on 10spd but I know a shimano 11spd shifter and a sram 11spd derr work fine together.

When did shimano go 1:1 out of interest? That explains why their 11 speed shifter feel a lot more clunky like a sram one than their older kit.

I think the pull ratio changed with 10 speed

Ok, it’s actually all listed here http://blog.artscyclery.com/science-behind-the-magic/science-behind-the-magic-drivetrain-compatibility/

A more engineering type person might be able to work out how to mod a derailleur to be interchangeable, doesn’t look like there’s much difference between shimano/sram 10 and even less between 11 (which is why it works for you stranga?)
