Any ideas who might sell hose barbs for Sram Hydraulic road brakes? I’ve tried the local bike shops with no luck and haven’t found anyone online who sells them either?

Do they exist as separate parts or do people just re-use old barbs? The sram tech info suggests re-using the barbs is a bad idea…

AFAIK they’re the same as Avid hose barbs and olives, which should be a lot easier to find.

I’d be surprised if they’re different tbh- but barbs are totally reusable, just break the olive (crush with pliars, if it doesn’t shatter first time turn 90 degrees and do it again) and then carefully cut the hose away from the barb.

Thanks – no wonder I couldn’t find any if they are actually using a completely different brand name!

Northwind – I’ll try that first .. cheers for the tip

Yep, you can resume them. The last pack I picked up were on eBay.

Shimano road brakes use a different barb than the MTB ones, so there is that…
Reusing the old one is a good option in your case.
