    new chain slippage has revealed the need for a new cassette. Now do i go SRAM or Shimano?

    It's a shimano chain as my old SRAM was bobbins.

    I like SRAM but all honesty Nick is right no real difference.

    Whichever's cheaper for the quality you're after – I've never noticed any difference.

    Choose a budget, search some 'net sites, choose the one with the lowest weight for your budget. Job dun.

    Yeah I tend to switch between them depending on what deals are around, XT and SRAM 980 both look reasonable value atm, Merlin still seems cheapest of the big on-line retailers although CRC are close with their current offers.
