Looking to go 1×10 on a X0 crankset with a spiderless chainring

Wolf Tooth look sturdy and sensible, and have good reviews

    But AbsoluteBlack look intriguingly baroque

Anybody tried either of these, or alternatives?

I’ve got an Absolute Black – really good and has lasted all season so happy with that.

Wolftooth works very well too. I doubt there’s much in it really. I’d probably take AB if I was buying again just cause they’re purdier.

I’ve got Wolftooth direct mount myself with their bash guard and its great. Not the cheapest option due to import charges, I would have gone with Works for cost, but at the time they didn’t do the holes for a bashring, not sure if they do now. I’m running with no chain retention and it works fine in keeping the chain on.

Had an absolute black and it was total rubbish. Chain came off loads so sent it back and got my money back. Bought a wolf tooth and it has been perfect since
