  • SRAM cranks in a Shimano BB 71 PF set up. What do i need?

Been given some X0 cranks to replace my XTs. Currently running the XTs straight in to a BB71 PF 89.5mm shell.

Never really used SRAM cranks before, what are the spindle diameters? There’s some suggestion that one end is 24mm and the other slightly less. Is that correct? If so is there an adaptor readily available?

    Thanks

As far as I know, you will need a new BB. I believe the other end of the SRAM cranks tapers down to 22mm.

You require a GXP bottom bracket, of the press fit variety. Just google ‘GXP press fit BB’

My PF BB (Token from On-One) came with what I think is a GXP adapter which I think is what you need to run a SRAM chainset in it (I’m using a Shimano chainset so didn’t need it). As such, I reckon you can get adapters.

So what BB do you have then? BB92? (BB71 is a Shimano model number rather than BB type as I understand it just to be confusing)

Yep, it’s a BB92 frame, that BB looks promising (and cheap!) thanks Nemesis
