Say you wanted to run an 11-36 10spd on a CX bike rather than an 11-28 that it comes with. Groupset is SRAM Apex with the short cage mech fitted. I know I could fit a medium cage mech to put an 11-32 cassette on, but can I fit a SRAM MTB rear mech for 11-36 compatibility without doing anything else?

Looking at using a CX bike as an allround winter bike, onroad and offroad potentially, but really need a 1:1 bottom gear for some of the steep offroad bits I would encounter.
