    My wheels are in need of a little tweak so have got myself a spoke tension meter and a trueing stand. However i cant seem to find anything that recomends what tension i should be trying to achieve.

    So the question is what tension should i be looking to achieve?

    Is it the Park one?

    You can download the table they use here;

    http://www.parktool.com/tm-1-tension-calculator

    You could probably use the values on their chart to convert to other guages readouts too as they all reference back to the same base data.

    I tend to aim for the middle of the range for each spoke thickness. Only exception is Stans where I use their recommended settings.

    Looking at building my first set of wheels this week. I intend to use the cheaper twang-method…
    Getting my initial twangometer setting about right will be the issue I think but we’ll see..
    Have to compare it to other wheels…

    The limiting factor is usually the rim. It’s often listed on manufacturers web site. Once they’re tight enough, you gain nothing by going tighter. However, if it is the park one, I find their calibration to be poor. Best to compare with a wheel you trust.
