Hello,
After some advice/check for my Alfine wheel build..
Hub: Shimano 8spd, 32H Alfine SG-S501
Rim: 26″ 32 H Sun Ringle Rhyno Lite
Spoke pattern: 2 Cross
So I used the FreeSpoke calculator: http://www.kstoerz.com/freespoke/
And selected those components from the library. It gave me spoke lengths of 244.4mm Left and 243.4mm Right.
From experience I have found it better to order shorter rather than longer. So if I was getting these I was thinking 242mm should do the trick for both sides.
What do you think?
Does the nipple length make any difference? The calculator doesn’t ask for that measurement, CRC supply DT spokes with 14mm nipples whereas I understand the norm is 12mm so should I decrease the spoke length by a further 2mm and go for the 240mm (if buying from CRC)?
