I’m trying to find the right (metal) spoke key for these wheels after the plastic one they supplied rounded off.

Any ideas where I can get one the right size?

I ordered an X-Tools one and the large end is too big and the small end is tool small.

Help from anybody else who was in this position would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mavic do three different alloy ones depending on the age of the wheel, the older ones having 6 spline nipples, then current tracomp-7 spline nipples and the largest is for the screw in eyelets for the self build tubeless rims.

The plastic ones are guff aren’t they. .
Careful with the metal ones, my lbs destroyed my nipples on my last set.

there are two models – one for an aluminium alloy spoke, the other for a steel spoke – the steel spoke should be magnetic… the aluminium ones.. shouldn’t be – although it will depend on the alloy I guess 😕

Park do double ended Mavic splined spoke wrenches, I think you’ll need the SW-13

If not you’ll need the SW-12

? not quite sure what the question is – steel is made mostly from iron, and magnets are attracted to iron so if its steel then it will be “magnetic” (as in magnets will stick to it). Stainless steel has other minerals in it, such as nickel which are also “magnetic”, but the iron on its own is enough

Yep, that’ll be the old size then. The size changed in 2011 by the looks of things. I’ve already ordered that X Tools one in my link but it doesn’t fit. I think it’s the same sizes as the Park Tools one you mentioned.
