    The Maxle on my new (to me) bike has split (on the axle, not the forks).

    Is this normal? I’ve not had this with other 15mm through-axles (X-fusion).

    Can I still ride it?

    Do you mean on the washer/collett thing ?

    Hmmm, maybe it’s there by design.

    The split is there to allow it to expand inside the “dropout” when the center cone is driven in by the QR lever.
