  • Speed Link / Missing Link for Shimano HG-X 10 speed chain?

Have searched for an answer to this, but I’m struggling to come up with any results. Apologies if I’ve missed the answer having been given before.

I’m in the process of putting a 1×10 drivetrain on my bike. I’d like to put a Speed Link or equivalent in the chain I’ve bought, a Shimano HG-X 10-speed chain (CN-M980) before fitting it. Trawling the likes of Wiggle and Chainreaction for something suitable has yielded nothing so far.

Anyone got experience of this or could you recommend a solution?

    Thanks, Dan.

Jut use a 9-speed Powerlink. I had to fit one (as an emergency) to a 10-speed Ultegra chain and it was just fine.

As above, local halfords (who are pretty good in Middlesbrough) recomended just runing 9s links as they wont casue any problems.

Didn themselves out of a sale by saying that so I presume they’re right!
