    Hi all,
I have this specialized that is hardly used and in excellent condition. It is totally original, even down to the tyres. It has the specialized computer and water bottles/cages that were bought as extras with the bike in April 1996.

I also have all the original documents including the owners manuals, the original shop price tag and the purchase receipt.

I used it for a couple of months before moving house and putting it in storage. I took it for its first ride in 12 yrs last saturday!! I have called in at my local specialized dealer and they think it would appeal to a collector of sorts who fancies a retro ride in original condition.

Here’s a few links for some pictures.

So, any ideas on it’s value?

I am considering selling it to fund a new bike as I am planning on doing the C2C later this year and think it would be a shame to use this one, plus I would want to use rear panniers etc and they wouldn’t fit this.

I look forward to your comments!!

I used to sell these and they’re nice looking bikes but it really will just appeal to collectors now.

Your best bet is probably to try Retrobike for help with a valuation and perhaps selling it. I’m sure if the condition is as good as you say it’ll be snapped up in no time 🙂

Yes, It was a really well specced bike at the time, but when compared to the latest full suspension bikes on the market now, it just shows how much the technology has advanced in recent years.

I’m told that specialized have a G.C. on display at their offices/factory so I guess it is just a retro/collectors bike now.

The bike is in excellent condition so it may appeal to someone looking for a shop display bike etc.

Many thanks for your comment 🙂
