Bit of a dosa fiend… Used to live in Leicester so was spoilt for choice for good places, now in the glorious south east. Have been to woodlands and various Chennai dosas (dosai?) before – anyone got any winners in any area of London?

Large South Indian community in East ham. Not the greatest place to visit though but plenty of local restaurant there. High Street north come out of tube station turn right and walk towards the lights and keep going on your left and right for about 1/4 of mile.

dosa n chutny by tooting broadway station used to be pretty good when i worked round there and was cheap as chips. Haven’t been for a while but if you live nearby might be worth a look

Really enjoyed Tayabs just off Whitechapel (though it’s more Punjabi)

I went to one by Southall overground station a few years back. It’s a bit of a haul and obviously with my memory you’d have to look for it.

Cocum – One in Raynes Park or my local here in Molesey, maybe do a trip to the palace at Hampton Court and go afterward if you need an excuse..

Bit of a trek for most but the food’s great.

Another vote for Tayyabs, though it’s a chaotic place even with a reservation. BYO too which is nice.

The Malabar Junction in Bloomsbury used to be very good. Haven’t been for a few years but it used to do tasty dosas.

Drummond street, just next to Euston station has always been a Dhosa mecha for some reason.

The Ravi Shankar is ace & apparently Chutneys is good too.

Still can’t believe the Bhel Poori Curry house is no more.
    Sad times indeed

Saravana Bhavan is a very popular South Indian franchise, the ones I’ve been to in Harrow and Wembley have been highly recommended by real South Indians. They have a couple more over on the east side of London too.

Sirkonis on Ealing road, Wembley. Weekends its jammed with, take your time and an empty stomach.

Sakonis is a good place for general Indian food and the dosa and South Indian food is OK but can’t touch Saravana Bhavan which is a South Indian specialist.

Rasa near Bond Street. Not sure if I’ve spelt it right. Massive dosa.
