Eastern European overtakes work slightly differently to here though.
Having spent a bit of time in Romania I’m surprised the countryside isn’t littered with wrecked cars.
For instance even if a road looks like a single carriageway if its wide enough to get three cars abreast then actually there is an unofficial overtaking lane in the middle. No need for much of a gap at all, traffic coming the other way might flash their lights a bit but will make room to avoid a head on collision and then everyone gets on with their day.
My other favourite is the double overtake. Why wait your turn to overtake when two cars can overtake simultaneously side by side! Molgrips would love it!
