My mate is looking at selling his Specialized Big hit but he is not sure what it is worth or how old it is….

    This is the bike…….

From what I can see the spec is as follws.

    boxxer teams
    xt 4 pot brake
    durace mech
    hope hubes
    vanilla coil shock
    mavic 321 rims.

The rear swing arm has BETD stamped on it? I think its some sort of conversion but not sure what?

Its been sat in his shed for two years unused.

What do you think its worth?

Any ideas how old it is?

    Cheers

I’d guess around the 2003/4/5 era. It would have been 24″ rear wheel and has the BETD 26″ rear wheel conversion plates hence the steep head angle.

£350-£400 ish depending how quick he needs to sell.

As always, would get more if he could be bothered to break it and sell as parts.

Oh and the boxxers are 04 I think.

    Cheers for that.

Is the BETD conversion likely to put people off?

Prob not, most people did it to get rid of the 24″ rear wheel. Judging by trends at the minute a 24″ rear wheel would be more likely to put people off.

I’d ebay it or put it on pinkbike, doubt he’ll get a buyer on here.

How much do you think it would be worth as parts?
