  • Sorry, boring thread, what 10 speed chain?

    Just changing to 10 speed (I know, I’m really cutting edge me!) shimano.
    I’ve had xtr / dura ace 9 speeds, and couldn’t tell any difference to an XT chain. Is this still the same with 10 speed, or should I be looking at different manufactures?

    Thanks

    I just bought -> http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/mtb-parts/transmission-gears/chains-1/kmc-x10-93-10-speed-chain.html

    Why anyone would go non split-link design, i.e Shimano is beyond me.

    any of them… i’ve used KMC Shiamano & SRAM with no issues

    and the split links are interchangeable, so you can use a split link on shimano

    That explains it. If i’d have known that, i’d have happily had another Shimano.

    The KMC is unchartered territory for me.

    The halfords ones are out of stock now.
    I placed an order for two yesterday only to receive an email just now to say that they are sold out…
    Bit peeved…

    KMC X10 all the way for me, I find they are lasting longer than my SRAM PC-991’s used to.
