    Boring thread of the day.

I would like some new socks, which are similar to regular thin cotton socks, but are a lot tougher, and don’t wear through in 2 months. Also, breathable, and not mega expensive.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks! Duane.

Get black ones but with coloured toes. Makes them easier to pair.

Are bamboo ones actually more durable?

Mil keeps on buying me bamboo ones. Tbh, they are pretty good. They wick well and more durable than thin cotton. You can ride in them and they’ll be fine for work. Nearly one sock to rule ’em all!

Bamboo definitely wicks well. Can’t say I have noticed one way or another but I only have had a couple of pairs so they come to the top of the sock like at random intervals!

    Buy a few multipacks.
I buy 15 pairs black ones
No more sorting socks, if one socks gets a hole in it the other stays in rotation.

Only downside is that I “have” to throw away the ones I still have when decathlon change the make, so I cant restock on the “original”

Mr Pea has them but if I’m sorting the washing I deliberately mismatch them. I’ve got several pairs of stripey socks in different colours that I seem to have taken to wearing mismatched. Not keen on symmetry 🙂

The ones I bought were rubbish and holed within a couple of weeks.

I wear black M&S cotton-rich sport socks. They eventually start to go a bit thin, but I’ve got pairs that are five or six years old and haven’t got holes in yet. I buy a seven-pack maybe once a year and bin the ones that have gone really threadbare, still leaves me with at least a fortnight’s worth at a clean pair every day.
I think I can do a month without running out at the mo’.
Plus I’ve got quite a few pairs of thicker wool socks for winter.
And shorter topped cycling merino ones that are fine with skate shoes, but I normally wear Meindle desert boots.

    Duchamp.
Their online store – or TK Maxx for past season’s designs; ffs – they’re only socks.

    As above.

No point in being boring and looking it……………..

Made of cheese, in my experience.

Uniqlo socks seems to be cheap and indestructable

@batfink;wear socks for only a day then wash, dry and wear again in a week.
That should eliminate your cheese problem – unless you have strong feet odour problems.

and don’t wear through in 2 months

Sounds like a problem with your shoes (or your feet) rather than your socks.

I’m actually mildly disappointed if I put my socks on and discover the two socks I’ve grabbed out of the drawer match.

No, more comfortable, but not more durable. Prone to shrinkage too.

    M&S FTW.

Thin ish cotton. Last a few years. Get a bit less soft feeling but I’ve never worn any through. I bought 2 packs a few years back, now on my second cycle.
