Been out 3 times this year on the ale and all occasions I have had the odd tab. Probably had around 20 gags all in all this year. My fitness is through the roof at the moment. Not smoking any other time never bothers me.

My mum successfully gave up after 55 years of smoking.

It took lung cancer to make her realise, but she just stopped, cold turkey, just like that. I *think* she has lapsed once, early on, but that is it. No patches, gum, mints, hypno-electro-shock treatment, nothing.

    I’m failing miserably..
the six months that I quit last year were the first time that I’ve been smoke free since puberty.. and it was absolute bliss.. I felt far fitter.. healthier and more alive.. and much less stressed.. I succumbed to the old ‘one won’t hurt’ in the middle of last summer though and have been regretting it daily ever since..
I’m sat here now with a large unopened box of nicorette products on the shelf above me…

I can’t be the only person that’s lost weight whilst quitting smoking, surely?

My weight went up by just over half a stone when I stopped last year, but I have now lost about 4lbs of it now.

So, still heavier than when I was a smoker, but not much really.

Quite September 2009. Had a few sneaky ones whilst drinking but after about three they taste horrible so stop. Same goes for special ciggies but they’re more enjoyable. 8)

Read this, it now costs less than a packet of tabs. And you can read it while still puffing away.

Been off for two and a bit months now, bar the odd relapse. Like bakey though, still going through 10-12 2mg lozenges every day. They’re horrible things and perhaps I’ll try to get off them today. Bleurgh.

    Yep.

Don’t crave them either (was only smoking a few though, and could go days without wanting one.) Still have the occasional funny one after a nice dinner though.

Haven’t put on any weight. (no change there then 🙄 )

I must admit I’ve lapsed on both ciggies and booze although I’m doing a lot less of both than I was a year ago. I can go for days/ weeks without any but If I drink I will smoke. Crazy I know.
I’m also 10 kilos heavier than I wa 2 years ago.

apart from the odd one here and there, been off for 3 weeks

(ok, i’m sure the odd one here and there doesn’t count as “given up” but 2 or 3 over 3 weeks rather than a total of roughly 420, i can’t complain)
