Looking for a campsite in the Snowdonia area later this month. 2 nights, 3 small tents, proximity to a decent pub an advantage but not essential likewise the ability to burn stuff is also a bonus.

Somewhere around Betws-y-Coed would be ideal as we’ve got a day at Antur Stiniog, day two at Revolution Bike Park and but day 3 is a dawn hike and ride on Snowdon so we need to be close enought to Snowdon to make it to the top and back dowen before the 10am ban kicks in.

Anyone suggestions would be great ta.

All will be infinitely better with mossie repellent 🙂

    For fires: http://www.gwynant.com/

For pub / Snowdon: http://www.thegoodpubguide.co.uk/pub/view/Vaynol-Arms-LL55-4UF (campsite is opposite, not sure you can book, just turn up and pay on the day?)

Near(ish) to Betws-y-Coed (Walk to pub about a mile or so down the A5?) again, not sure it can be booked:

Perfect walking base for Snowdon – camp by the lake or river under the mountain

This is a good campsite. not great for the proximity to a pub option but good for the burning stuff and close to Snowdon options.

the lake and river are nice for swimming as well if it’s hot!

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago:

Campsite is fine, pub is good, bottom of the rangers path/car park is 3.5 miles down the road.

We stopped here over the weekend was ok and cheep enough and close to the bottom of the llamberis trail, and allows open fires 🙂
