Upgraded to snow leopard all was good. Changed the internal hard drive and used snow leopard as an install disc and then time machine to restore settings. Sort of worked but now the finder is some ultra basic looking nonsense that won’t show up external drives and has no icons. Also when you look in time machine now instead of the desktop as it was at the relevant time there is the basic finder window with some folders. Found couple things on tinterweb but nothing that really helps

Okay – justt managed to make mine the same.

Go to the Fnder and then in the View menu, choose…

    as Icons…
    Show Toolbar
    Show Sidebar

It should remember those settings from now on.
