Anyone use Excel / VB to set/get data via SNMP? If so, how?

I want to do some basic network management / diagnostics from VB and dump the data into graphs in Excel. Currently I write shell scripts to get the data then parse it in Excel – only that's a bit tedious and disjointed.

Its a pain SNMP, only seems to be supported\used by weirdos locked away in an IT dungeon (Thats not you is it ?, sorry if it is !)

We needed to integrate it into an industrial solution with Modbus TCP, sounds easy, it isn't.

Well doing a little bit of Google fu you might be struggling, it appears you can do it with some tweaking and fiddling and using various other tools:
